  1. Download the game.
    DOWNLOAD CLIENT
    It's several gigabytes — let it finish. If Google says it "can't scan this file for viruses," choose Download anyway; that message appears for every large file.
  2. Unpack it. Right-click the downloaded file and choose Extract All. Put the folder somewhere simple, like C:\Games\. Avoid Program Files — Windows interferes with game folders there. If Extract All isn't offered, install 7-Zip and use that.
  3. Point it at Evermind. In the game folder, open Data\enUS\ (or Data\enGB\), right-click realmlist.wtf → Open with → Notepad. Delete everything in it and type:
    set realmlist play.evermind.quest
    Save and close.
  4. Make your account. Go to Join — you'll need the invite code from whoever sent you here.
  5. Play. In the game folder, run Wow.exe — not any launcher. Log in with the account you just made and roll a character.

DOWNLOAD EXTRAS

The game works fine without these — they upgrade the look of the old client. Skip them for the classic 2008 style.

How to install: unpack the extras file, then copy the patch files (named like patch-X.mpq) into the Data\ folder inside your game folder. To remove: delete those same files — the game goes back to standard models, nothing else changes.
